Blind Consent

The answers are buried in the secrets of the past...

After the tragic loss of his wife, Ryan Mitchell decides to return to his roots. He heads to his birthplace, Tanglewood Falls, tucked away in a beautiful valley in the Shenandoah Mountains. While staying with his mother, Ryan begins to reacquaint himself with the small town and local inhabitants of his early childhood. Shocked at the poverty of the town compared to others in the area, Ryan begins to ask questions of the locals. At the same time, he seeks answers to the recurring dreams that have haunted him most of his life.
Among the locals Ryan meets is the beautiful Annie. Having spent his whole adult life working in the field of science and technology, Ryan has a hard time accepting the folklore and spiritual concepts held by many in the valley, including his own mother who believes her son has a purpose and a destiny that he has yet to discover. His biggest struggle, though, is understanding why folks think their Annie is blessed with special powers.
The deeper Ryan digs, the more he brings to light the horrifying secret that has kept the beautiful Tanglewood Falls impoverished and under the thumb of a desperate and despicable man.
With Blind Consent, Michael W. Davis has once again written a top-notch thriller. He starts out with a bang, then steps back and slowly reels the reader into a story both believable and otherworldly. As the truth unfolds, the horror of what happened to the town and its inhabitants many years before leads the way to a stunning conclusion.
Blind Consent is a necessary read for thriller lovers everywhere. Michael W. Davis fans can only hope he is hard at work on his next novel.
