What to Do with a Bad Boy

The McCauley Brothers, #4

This entertaining story is part of a series yet I had no problem reading it without being familiar with the other books. It is a great combination of sizzle and humor while it gives a view of somewhat atypical characters, given that Del is a salty language-using tattooed mechanic who runs a garage and demonstrates such a tough facade while Mike is a neat freak and seemingly pretty easygoing, plus it provides a heartwarming picture of two close-knit families. The vivid scenes evoke the camaraderie between siblings, the unexpected humor that results from a child mimicking adult mannerisms, and the intense lust that can explode between two very passionate people. There are definitely emotional scenes as the relationship unfolds and the glimpses of the other McCauley siblings has made me very interested in reading the rest of the series and becoming more familiar with their romances and the quirky women who have joined the family.

“What to Do with a Bad Boy” by Marie Harte is a contemporary erotic romance featuring widower Michael (Mike) McCauley and scrappy take-no-prisoners mechanic Delilah (Del) Webster. Mike’s world is centered around his precocious son, Colin, who has given him a reason to go on after his wife’s death. Watching the rest of his family pair up with their soul mates reminds him that he doesn’t want to repeat the pain of loss but he’s unwillingly tempted by someone who is the complete opposite of everything he thinks he should be interested in. The problem is, even though she fascinates both Colin and his dad, she is just as ambivalent about her attraction to Mike. Fortunately for them, there are plenty of folks in both families who like to meddle...whether they want them to or not.
