“Until You” by Denise Grover Swank is a fun and frequently humorous look at the complications of being part of a wedding party. I love the sense of impending doom that plagues Tyler as his friends succumb to love and leave him in lonely bachelorhood. The memorable meetings between the main characters, Lanie and Tyler, kept the story light and entertaining even as I gave thanks that I didn’t have to participate in a wedding where I was expected to show up in my finery umpteen different occasions, lol. I enjoyed the bantering and the genuine affection displayed by the various members of the wedding party but I was a little frustrated by some of the situations that seemed a bit too contrived. The odd jarring element by the bridesmaid who doesn’t quite seem to fit in with the overall group, the weird legal maneuverings, and the issues with Aiden that all serve to provide conflict struck me as a bit awkward. Fortunately, I fell in love with the main characters and their adventures so I enjoyed the story and am definitely tempted to look for the previous books in the series (especially so I get a different perspective on Britt, the bride, lol). The author has a great breezy style and I look forward to reading many more of her stories.
This book is part of the ‘Bachelor Brotherhood’ contemporary romance series and follows Tyler Norris, who is the last of his trio of friends to remain single, despite their pact with each other. Tyler is entranced by Lanie Rogers, whose peripatetic existence is starting to pall, even though she is driven to continue excelling at her vocation. Their personal connection is in danger of being blindsided by their professional obligations, and unlike their deliriously happy friends, there may be no way they can ever find a happy ending.
Never settle down. Ever.
Workaholic Lanie Rogers lives a completely nomadic lifestyle. Her job keeps her on the move, and relationships are a complication she doesn't need. That is, until she meets Mr. Tall, Dark, and Hotness at a pre-wedding party. Complicated? Maybe. But lately, Lanie's life has been missing a little something---and sexy playboy Tyler Norris offers something she definitely can't refuse.
Tyler has always been a little too popular with women for his own good. Ever since he and his buddies vowed to remain bachelors, Tyler figured he was safe from temptation. Lanie and her gorgeous brown eyes are about to prove him so, so wrong. With one kiss, the heat is intense. After one night, it's pure combustion. It was supposed to be a no-strings fling---until these two commitment-phobes each discover the one undeniable exception to their rule.
