Savor Me Slowly

Alien Huntress, Book 3

Savor Me Slowly by Gena Showalter continues her Alien Huntress series.  Alien Investigation and Removal (AIR) agent Jaxom Tremain has been captured and severely tortured and operative Mishka Le’Ace has been sent in to rescue him and determine what information he possesses.  Mishka has been tortured and literally molded into a tool that is controlled by a deadly chip in her body but has never felt anything toward her targets before and can’t understand her inexplicable attraction to the injured agent.  His reticence about the facts that he has gleaned during his investigation of the deadly Schon thwarts her mission objectives but she searches for a way to give him time to heal while exploring her desire to finally interact as a woman rather than a machine.  Jaxom is confused by the severe contrast between the deadly killer whose reputation precedes her and the unsure innocent that he catches glimpses of.  Together they must find a way to stop the deadly aliens who seek to overthrow the world and overcome all of the obstacles to their developing relationship.

A very imaginative work peopled with interesting characters and exotic situations.  There is an almost overwhelming plethora of quirks and mysterious factions even among the purportedly good guys and some of the resolutions don’t quite fit seamlessly into the story but an entertaining light read of an almost comic book quality.

Mishka Le'Ace was created to be an undercover operative...literally. Her beautiful body has been mechanically augmented to give her superhuman strength -- strength she's going to need. Her latest mission sends her to rescue Alien Investigation and Removal agent Jaxon Tremain from torture and death. With him, she discovers a passion unlike any other. A passion she was forbidden to know....

From the moment they meet in a darkened cell, Jaxon craves her touch. But the machine half of Le'Ace forces her to do things she doesn't always want to do. Even betray him...and ultimately destroy him. Now Jaxon must battle the man controlling Le'Ace, and even Le'Ace herself, to at last claim the woman he's come to love.
