Love Potions

A madcap paranormal romance novella, this story is filled with quirky characters and magical and mystical happenings. The action gets a bit frenetic and I am not quite thrilled with the high-handedness displayed by the family but I can’t deny that this is definitely an intriguing clan. The tricks that are played by siblings are escalated immeasurably when magic is added to the mix and it is hilarious to observe some of the hijinks but I can’t help but feel very sorry for the non-magical folks who get caught in the crossfire and hope that they eventually get revenge of their own. The action is a bit uneven and hectic in places but part of that is probably due to the introduction of so many different characters and new concepts at once and it is my hope that things will become clearer as the series continues. This is a very entertaining start to a new series and I look forward to learning more about the MacGregor clan and the partners who claim their hearts and help restrain some of their exuberance!

“Love Potions” by Michelle Pillow is the first in the ‘Warlocks MacGregor’ series and is a fun introduction to a group of warlocks who are looking for a new place to live. Lydia Barratt has inherited several things from her grandmother but isn’t quite comfortable with everyone’s claim that the older woman was a witch, even though it was true. The discovery that her sexy new neighbor, Erik MacGregor, not only is inclined to evict her but also that he has powers of his own leads to a entirely new set of problems...particularly when he discovers that she can directly affect his powers. Between meddling family, evil threats and a power struggle, the town and Lydia may never recover from an introduction to the MacGregor clan.
