Laying Down the Law

The TripleHorn Brand, Book 1

Delilah Devlin’s “Laying Down the Law” provides another of her sensual and entertaining stories about a sexy protective male. As usual, Ms Devlin combines an intriguing plot liberally seasoned with sizzling intimate encounters between engaging characters. An enjoyable introduction to the Triplehorn brothers with a great suspenseful tale, satisfying romance and plenty of the author’s trademark spice. I am looking forward to more tales in this series.

“Laying Down the Law” by Delilah Devlin is a delightfully spicy novella about Zuri Prescott who flees when she is framed for a bank robbery, right into the arms of the man she spurned when they were both very young. Miscommunication divided them and started them on their very divergent paths but neither forgot their first incandescent love for one another and very little is needed to fan the flames again except for the tiny problem that they are ostensibly on opposite sides of the law. Sheriff Colt Triplehorn must struggle between his professional obligations and his personal inclinations, especially when Zuri indicates that there could be corruption in the very structure that Colt is sworn to uphold. Their searing attraction for one another may endanger Colt’s heart but he’s not prepared to step aside while her very life could be at risk.

Book Blurb for Laying Down the Law

Seeking sanctuary could be the hottest mistake she ever made.

A lifetime ago, Zuri Prescott kicked the dirt off her boots and ditched her small-time small town for the glam city life—and lived to regret it. When she’s framed for a bank job, she lights out for home, seeking refuge with her old high school sweetheart while she figures out her next steps. Only she discovers that the boy she left behind is the last man she should trust.

Sheriff Colt Triplehorn knows trouble when he sees it, especially when it comes in the form of a familiar trespasser, caught naked between an angry bull and her underwear. Sure she’s up to her usual no good, he grants her sanctuary at his ranch—the better to keep an eye on her, and purge her from his system once and for all.

Reconnection is sweet and hot, but the heat can’t hide the truth. When Colt inevitably finds out what Zuri’s running from, it’s too late to put the fire out, and he’s got a career-compromising choice on his hands. Follow the letter of the law, or follow his heart.

Warning: When a sheriff captures the girl who got away, expect revenge so hot it leaves brands on two lonely hearts...
