Inseverable

A Carolina Beach Novel, #1

“Inseverable” by Cecy Robson evokes both the joy and sadness of a group of friends experiencing one last summer working together before they all go their separate ways. The author does such a great job of portraying that close-knit connection between a group of people who have grown up together and tolerate each other’s foibles and weaknesses even as they provide support for one another. The descriptions of each person are not only hilarious but bring them to vivid life (e.g. Trinity describes herself as able to “make people snort drinks through their noses at my jokes”) but the humor is perfectly offset by the poignant experiences of both Trinity and Callahan, albeit in very different venues.

I always have a soft spot for wounded warriors, and watching Trinity’s persistence in breaking a hole in Callahan’s walls and her refusal to accept his withdrawal from society was impressive. Who can resist laughing at her use of Flo Rida’s lyrics as she shimmies and jogs with the man who is determined to reject emotional connections? I cheered for the very slow progress they made together, sighed at their sensual connection, but was really frustrated by the mistakes Trinity made which undermined all of their progress, although I was gratified that there was a satisfying conclusion.

I love stories that lighten my spirit even as they tug at my heartstrings and this one did a great job of hitting all of my emotional buttons. There are so many fascinating secondary characters, including Trinity’s parents who are refreshingly frank and earthy, that I look forward to reading many more stories in this series.

This contemporary romance is the first book in the ‘Carolina Beach’ series and follows the poignant and sizzling connection that forms between two very disparate persons who cross paths on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Trinity, the young leader of a group of lifeguards who have grown up together, has not let her past experiences sour her on life, even if they have made her a bit more wary. Callahan has been scarred by his experiences in the war, but his defenses may be no match for the determined assault by a woman who has an “insane need to save the world, and leave it a little brighter”. The heat that explodes between them burns brightly but it may not be enough to get them past their respective wounds, particularly if they can’t be completely honest with each other.

Book Blurb for Inseverable

How can you imagine forever with someone who's leaving everything behind?

Callahan, a former army sniper, wants to make an escape from his past and everything he experienced at war, but most of all, just not feel. Feeling leads to pain and he’s suffered enough. When he inherits a house on South Carolina’s Kiawah Island, he packs his bags, lured by the peace and seclusion he thinks it will bring. But, Callahan never counted on meeting anyone like Trinity . . .

Trinity has always been the cute, and funny one, who most guys overlook in pursuit of her "hot" friends. She became used to being everyone’s pal, until the day the young man she was attracted to, was drawn to her in return. He became her first great love, and first crushing heartbreak when she found him in bed with one of her closest friends.

To move forward, and to carry out her commitment to helping those in need, Trinity enlists in the Peace Corps, but not before returning to Kiawah for one last memorable summer. She just never imagined it would be so unforgettable.

Callahan doesn’t want to get close to anyone—let alone Trinity. He finds her perkiness insufferable and her attempts to entice a smile distracting. After all, he’s in Kiawah to leave all feelings behind. But when it comes to Trinity, who feels everything, it's hard not to feel something.

Neither expected to fall in love. And no one could have predicted how inseverable they’d become.
