Hot Ice, #1

This sizzling hot story provides an introduction to the Orlando Vipers and one of the sexy players who is essential to the team. The incandescent relationship that quickly develops between the two main characters is almost mind-boggling but one winces at the repercussions when the truth comes out. Personally, I think she was a little too forgiving of the horrific and hurtful fallout even though one could see this inevitable result coming. This was a wonderful story to start off a series that features yummy alpha males in a sport that admittedly I know very little about, but am intrigued by now. I look forward to getting to know the rest of these delicious guys!

“Hired” by Lily Harlem is the first tale in the fun and spicy ‘Hot Ice’ series that centers around deliciously sensual hockey players and the partners that they find. Brooke Ambrose reluctantly agrees to act as a companion to the injured hockey forward of the Orlando Vipers, Logan “Phoenix” Taylor. The owner of the team is willing to pay an obscene amount of money to ensure that Logan has companionship while he is recuperating but he doesn’t want Logan to know about the arrangement, which works out surprisingly well--at first. The attraction that develops between Brooke and Logan is even more complicated by the fact that the arrangement is facilitated by Brooke’s roommate, an exclusive call girl. Lies and deception are never a good way to start a relationship and this one is no exception to that rule.

Book Blurb for Hired

One hundred grand to babysit bad boy Logan “Phoenix” Taylor on a paradise island—seriously, how bad could he be?

Frankly, it didn’t matter. Not when it would make my dreams of going to nursing school possible. I wasn’t even expected to talk to him, just hang out in a luxurious villa on a private beach and study. Simple, right?

But I hadn’t counted on Logan being so deliciously bad that he was oh so good. And when the temperature cranked to boiling point, he knew just how to satisfy the deepest, darkest part of my soul and give my body exactly what it needed. Amongst the sand and waves, we transported each other to an exquisite world of pleasure where only we existed, only we mattered.

But the heady mix of emotions and lust couldn’t keep things from spiraling out of control back in reality, where I had to keep the secret that I’d been hired to entertain him…even if it shattered my delicate heart. Even if it cost my destiny.
