Heart of Venom

Elemental Assassin, #9

This searingly emotional addition to a fascinating urban fantasy series gives greater depth to many of the secondary characters while it continues to showcase the amazing heart and skills of the fiercely protective Gin Blanco. There are pretty intense scenes that have a significant amount of violence and grisly elements which show the crucible that has formed some of the characters and FINALLY someone stepped up and acted as I thought should have happened awhile ago. Some of the amazing elemental powers that form the backdrop to this series are featured and there are wonderfully dramatic partings as some of the most evil villains introduced yet are spotlighted. A great addition to a very enjoyable series that continues to add depth even as it adds to the mystery surrounding Mab’s surviving descendant. I look forward to the next exhilarating and intriguing addition.

“Heart of Venom” by Jennifer Estep is part of the exciting Elemental Assassins series that features former assassin Gin Blanco. This new addition to an impressive urban fantasy series gives a glimpse into the traumatic past experiences of the taciturn Sophia as Gin and her friends and family search for a way to rescue the dwarf from the nightmare she is facing yet again. Gin has been dealing with her own guilt and heartbreak over the repercussions of her actions against Owen’s former fiancee, Salina, but she is determined to rescue the woman she considers to be part of her family, even if she has to sacrifice her own life to do so.

Book Blurb for Heart of Venom

The hotly anticipated ninth novel in the hugely popular Elemental Assassin series finds Gin Blanco on a dangerous mission to rescue a friend.

When a terror from the past threatens Gin’s friend and body-disposer, Sophia, Gin will stop at nothing to protect her, even if it means walking straight into a killer’s trap. Meanwhile, the rocky romance between Gin and Owen reaches a turning point—can they reunite and rekindle their love? Or will the things Gin has been forced to do in her line of work as the deadly assassin the Spider keep them apart forever? Assuming, that is, she survives long enough to find out…
