“Cowboy Heat” is an anthology edited by the very busy Delilah Devlin which features short stories by 15 talented authors who have written sizzling stories featuring cowboys. There is a remarkable mixture of locations featured, including a polocrosse game in Queensland in Cheyenne Blue’s “Cowboy Downtime”, a bar in Colorado called the Wrong Turn in Randi Alexander’s “Skin Deep”, Las Vegas in Cynthia Alba’s “Backstage Pass”, Kansas in Amber Lin’s “At the Mercy of the Cowboy” and Texas in Michael Bracken’s “Cowboy Adonis” and Robie Madison’s “Denim and Lace”. It was fun revisiting the setting of Myla Jackson’s Ugly Stick Saloon series in the emotional “Shall We Dance” and entertaining seeing the unfolding relationship between a frustrated lawyer and her rescuer in Sabrina York’s “A Cowboy for Delilah”.
All of these stories and more feature very sexy men who aren’t afraid to seduce or be seduced by the fascinating women who have come into their lives. There are very poignant stories about new beginnings, sometimes after very traumatic experiences, reminders about the importance of being open to new experiences and fun tales which highlight the benefits of seizing an unexpected opportunity. This is a great combination of intriguing tales that showcase the talents of a wonderful collection of authors who know how to combine spice and an entertaining story. Some of these authors are new to me but I will definitely be on the lookout for other works by them.
They may ride off into the sunset, but cowboys never go out of style. These manly men embody the fiercely independent, earthy alpha male and hero who isn’t afraid to show the gentle, nurturing side of his complex nature when faced with a woman in need. Even when he’s coated with dust from riding behind a herd of cattle or up to his knees in mud freeing a calf from a wallow, this stud still generates a lot of Cowboy Heat. Delilah Devlin's Cowboy Lust was a sensation, hitting the top ten of romance books and generating a river of praise. Award-winning Devlin is back on the ranch with stories of rugged romantics, rough riders, and rope wranglers sure to satisfy any reader who craves the idea of that gruff, romantic hero, a man of few words but many moves. Cowboy Heat sits tall in the saddle, winning hearts and spurring readers to new heights of happiness.
