Ballroom Blitz

A Two to Tango Story

A light contemporary romance, this enjoyable novella gives a glimpse of the rigors of competitive dance even as it follows two stubborn artists as they get to know each other. I enjoyed the chemistry building between the two main characters but wasn’t convinced that their actions reflected their apparent attraction. The secretive nature of one character’s actions and lack of communication did not quite ring true and the resolution seems a bit too abrupt for my tastes but the author’s trademark sizzling intimate scenes are definitely entertaining and give this quick read a nice punch.

“Ballroom Blitz” by Lorelei James is an entertaining story that centers around Jon White Feather as he reaches a turning point in his life. Conscripted by his niece Raven to join a formal dance class with her, Jon is blindsided both by his ineptitude at dancing and his attraction to the sexy instructor, Maggie Buchanan. Maggie is exploring her lifelong dream to dance professionally after finding herself unemployed at the age of thirty-two. She is surprised to find herself connecting with the sexy Jon but his conflicting signals confuse her about where their relationship is heading. Jon is struggling with his creative side and his commitment to his band and the addition of a sexy woman who has her own conflicting goals only adds to his confusion about what to focus on. Both will have to evaluate their priorities in life.

She’s got the rhythm, but he’s got all the right moves.

After years on the road, rock drummer Jon White Feather is home from tour to reassess his music career. When his shy niece begs him to take a ballroom dancing class, Jon agrees, aware he’s not Fred Astaire material. Still, it stings when his sexy-hot instructor—who makes his heart do the cha-cha—deals his ego a low blow: he has no rhythm.

Maggie Buchanan is doing everything to make ends meet since her IT career fizzled, including teaching couples dancing at the community center. She’s prepared for anything—except her immediate attraction to the bad boy rocker who doesn’t know his right foot from his left.

As Jon sets out to prove he can rock his body—and hers—their sexual chemistry burns a path across the dance floor, straight to the bedroom. And Maggie wasn’t expecting a man with limited dance skills would know exactly how to sweep her off her feet.

Warning: Sweet and hot…this couple knows how to bump and grind.
