Reaper 4

A strong-minded heroine takes the lead in this story of a fallen angel offspring who takes it upon herself to protect humankind from human and non-human monsters alike. Upon her identity being discovered and her losing everything that was important in her life, Samantha discovers friendship, a new love and the freedom to be herself openly with the ones she loves. A new tall, dark, handsome, loving, considerate and rich love interest tops the story very nicely.

Amanda Holt does an excellent job explaining to the reader the history of this unique heroine by laying down the details of her life before her loses. Even though I had not read the first 3 books in this series, I was left with a feeling of understanding and an attachment to the characters by they story’s details that gave me an interest in the outcome and well-being of the characters. All in all I would say that I would definitely want to read the first 3 books in this series and future books by Amanda Holt as well.

Samantha Bennet, angel-human hybrid vigilante--not so invincible after all. Twice burned--once in an attack and once by her lover, does she dare to love the mysterious stranger who claims to read souls?
Samantha Bennet, half-angel vigilante, is horribly burned from her encounter with the Shiro Tai warriors. Her healer, Angela, helps, but due to now visible scars, Samantha must now reveal her identity as the Reaper to her boyfriend. Her decision will change her life forever. At her confession, Neal's reaction devastates her and she is forced to flee. Samantha takes only a few possessions to her only sanctuary. Within hours, her identity as the Reaper is all over the news. Betrayal strikes home. What is to become of her loved ones in the wake of Neal's treachery?
Kyle Brandt, self-made millionaire, extends his support and resources to help her, but is a stranger with supernatural secrets of his own. She is intrigued. His gentle touch makes her blood course swiftly through her veins and his brooding dark eyed gaze is a hypnotic aphrodisiac. Soul searing yearning is compelling.
As days go by, Samantha mourns for her normal life, but with her injuries, is hardly her Reaper self. Add to that her face plastered on every channel on television and life as she knows it has come to an end. Who will mind the shadows of the city in her absence? Kyle suggests the enlisted aid of two mercenaries whom he trusts implicitly. But can they be trusted? There is, after all, a bounty on her head.
