The year is 2008 and Ryan Daire has just inherited a mansion in the Prairie Avenue District of Chicago. The house is beyond anything he could ever imagine. Upon inspecting the house, he decided that he must spend the night there. It probably has something to do with the ghost he believes to have seen while walking thru with his partner, Ramiro Menendez. After finding pictures of the lady hidden in a piece of furniture, he is convinced she is real. Not only that but she does not seem to be a ghost. Could he really be seeing her, touching her, in his time? Or is she all a figment of his imagination?
For Hope Stillwater it is 1906 and she lives at the address that Ryan will inherit in the future. While going about her normal life, it seems that she can see him in her mirror. Is she imagining it? Did she make him up? Where exactly is he from and how is it he can see her and leave her messages in her time? Will he be able to find out why the records show she was murdered in 1906? Or was she?
Daring Time is a captivating story about how love can transcend time and space. Good guys from the future, bad guys in the past, it is interesting to see how anything that happens can have an impact on the future. I was unable to stop reading it once I picked it up. Beth Kery has done an amazing job in writing about a favorite subject of mine, time travel. I did find that I needed to have a dictionary handy to get the definitions of words that I did not know. It is nice to be able to expand my vocabulary even at my age.
