Reporter Keri Daniels works for the weekly entertainment magazine Spotlight and she’s great at what she does. But when her editor-in-chief demands her to get the dirt on the most reclusive bestselling author, Joseph Kowalski, and who just so happens to be Keri’s ex-boyfriend back from high school, she can’t believe what’s being asked of her. To make matters even worse, Keri needs to get the dirt on him or else she’ll be fired. The last thing she wants to do is lose her job, but getting any juicy details on her ex-boyfriend is going to be a monumental tasks. She hasn’t seen or heard from Joe since she broke it off with him eighteen years ago. There’s no way he’ll be interested in talking to her now.
Wanting to save her career at Spotlight, Keri gets the message to Joe that she’d love to talk to him. He knows that she works for a gossip magazine and just wants the dirt on him. But if he talks to her maybe he can test the waters to see if there’s any chemistry still left between them. He always held a special place in his heart for her even though she broke it back in high school and now would be the perfect time to see where they both stand with each other.
Joe decides that he’ll grant her an interview to ask the questions she so desperately wants answers to, but each question comes with a price. Since his entire family is going on their annual two week camping trip in just a few days, he wants her to come along with them. For each day she sticks it out with the Kowalskis, she gets to ask him one question. In the process of him helping her keep her job, he wants to use this time to find out why she left him the way she did eighteen years ago. With not many options available to her, Keri agrees to go on the trip.
Does she make it through the two weeks with the Kowalskis and does she get the interview of her dreams from Joe? Can being this close to each other bring them back together again or are they destined to kill each other on this trip? Does Keri save her job at the magazine?
If I had to pick one word to sum up this story I would say it was fabulous!!! I loved the storyline and the characters worked wonderfully off each other. Ms. Stacey’s sense of humor is priceless and she had me entertained the entire time I was reading her story. I had hoped that being this close together for two weeks, with no cell phones or computers to distract them, would bring them closer again. This author knows how to create an entertaining storyline and has crafted her characters to be finely tuned to make her story shine. You mustn’t pass this one up! You should definitely add this one to your summer reading list!
When Keri Daniels’ editor finds out she has previous carnal knowledge of reclusive bestselling author Joe Kowalski, she gives Keri a choice: get an interview or get a new job.
Joe’s never forgotten the first girl to break his heart, so he’s intrigued to hear Keri’s back in town—and looking for him. Despite his intense need for privacy, he’ll grant Keri an interview if it means a chance to finish what they started in high school.
He proposes an outrageous plan—for every day she survives with his family on their annual camping and four-wheeling trip, Keri can ask one question. Keri agrees; she’s worked too hard to walk away from her career.
But the chemistry between them is still as potent as the bug spray, Joe’s sister is out to avenge his broken heart and Keri hasn’t ridden an ATV since she was ten. Who knew a little blackmail, a whole lot of family and some sizzling romantic interludes could make Keri reconsider the old dream of Keri & Joe 2gether 4ever.
