This anthology contains six stories by six very talented authors.
Robyn Cattrall, a history professor, returns to her alma mater to begin teaching there and runs into her ex-boyfriend in Scene of the Crime by Ashley Ladd. Robyn can’t believe how good he looks even after twenty years have passed. What she finally realizes is that sexy guy isn’t her ex but his adult son and now she’s got the hots for junior. Can she keep her distance from both of them or is trouble waiting for her just around the corner?
In Singapore Sizzle by KS Augustin, Sophie Woodward is bored out of her mind. Deciding to remain in Singapore after her divorce to her banker husband, she doesn’t know what to do to add some spice into her life. She has a rewarding career, but it just doesn’t seem enough for her right now. Attending a masquerade ball for charity seems harmless in itself, but when she meets Adrian, who is ten years younger, sparks fly and inhibitions are lost. Could a relationship work between them or was it merely a one night stand?
Melinda George has been attracted to her best friend’s son, Ethan, for quite some time now in Melting Melinda by Mia Watts. But she knows that crossing the line to date Ethan would only put a wedge between her and Karen. Now that Ethan is a grown man it’s not as easy hiding her feelings for him. What she doesn’t know is that Ethan has the biggest crush on her and will do anything to get her in his bed. Can they have a relationship together? What does Karen think of her best friend wanting her son?
In Something Within Him by Elizabeth Coldwell, Kate has one rule that she sticks to now– never again offer work placements to students. After being burned in the past because of a bad student placement, she knows that she will never allow it to happen again. Then her best friend asks her to do the unthinkable. She wants Kate to hire her son’s friend, Stephen, as a favor to her. Reluctantly, she interviews Stephen and finds out that not only is he a talented writer, but also he’s a handsome guy. Maybe breaking her self-appointed rule won’t be so bad this time around. But when they both take a press trip to Amsterdam things seem to heat up between them more than Kate could ever have planned for. Do they make a go at it together or will it be too uncomfortable to remain working with each other now?
Maddie Summers is affectionately known as “Lucky” by all her friends because whenever she gives them scratch-off lottery tickets they’re always winners in Lucky in Love by Catherine Chernow. Too bad she doesn’t rub any of that good luck off into her love life. Now divorced, fifty-years-old and a few extra pounds heavier – she feels that love will never come around for her a second time. But when she finds out that a new neighbor moved in next store to her, she decides that she’ll do the neighborly thing and give him a welcome basket. Once she meets him, she can’t believe how gorgeous he is. Her heart beats in her chest, her mouth is dry and maybe - just maybe – she’ll be Lucky in Love again! The question remains does thirty-five-year-old Jake find her just as irresistible?
In the final story, Something to be Thankful For by Imari Jade, Julianne Richmond, who is the manager to musical prodigy Cameron Justice, is in for the surprise of her life. Cameron admits that he’s in love with her and she doesn’t know how to handle this piece of news since he’s much younger than her. Women are constantly throwing themselves at his feet and would do anything to go out with him, but Julianne decides that having a cougar/cub relationship isn’t the smartest thing for them and turns him down. Cameron is crushed and starts acting out his frustration by leaving Hollywood once and for all. If he can’t have her then he doesn’t want any of it anymore. He’s made his money and now it’s time to move on. But Julianne won’t hear of it and drives halfway across the country to convince him to come back. When they see each other again the sparks fly and emotions get in the way. Will Julianne realize that Cameron is exactly the man she’s been hoping to have a second chance at love with?
I have to say that I just loved this anthology! Quite a few of these authors are new to me, but after reading their work I’m a fan now! Each one brought their own unique writing style to this book and penned creative storylines and characters that kept me engrossed from beginning to end. Usually with anthologies there’s always one or two that just don’t make the grade compared to the other stories, but I can honestly say that with this compilation of six stories that is not the case. I thoroughly enjoyed each story and would highly recommend it to other readers. Definitely add this one to your buying list!
