Kate Leary was going to be all alone this Christmas. The one true man in her life that cared for her deeply, her father, had passed on just four months prior. She was lost without him. She was especially lost now during the holidays because her father, Jonathan, was always with her and made certain that the holidays were always special for the both of them.
Looking down from Heaven his heart broke seeing his lonely grown up daughter hurting so much over losing him. He wanted in the worse way to take her pain and suffering away. He wasn't going to sit idly by while his daughter grieved for him. He decided he was going to talk to the chamber of Elders and request to visit his daughter for Christmas. Unfortunately, the Elders couldn't grant him his request even though his record showed that he had been a good husband and father. They decided that they would call upon Kate's guardian angel, Zacharius, to go visit Kate and look after her until Christmas had passed.
Zach had been assigned to Kate since she was born. He had cushioned her many falls through her precocious youthful years. Being called upon by the Elders made Zach wonder because he didn't see any danger befalling Kate. After careful consideration he accepted his assignment of being her friend, keeping her happy and helping her find love in the mortal world.
How did Zach decide to enter into her life and have Kate accept him so openly? What did he do to help Kate during this tragic time of her life? Did Zach succeed with the assignment given to him? What did he learn about himself by accepting this assignment?
I really enjoyed this holiday tale penned by Ms. Riley. I felt for Kate because she was grieving so deeply for her father. I also felt for Jonathan because his heart was breaking seeing his daughter so brokenhearted over only losing him four months prior. I fell in love with Zach's character and saw why he was assigned to Kate as her guardian angel. I would definitely read other stories written by this fantastic author. I think you will enjoy this story as much as I did.
Zacharius is an angel. Literally. His job is to protect and serve, not play Cupid. He bucks under his new assignment until he finds out that his charge is Katelyn Leary. Her brown eyes and winsome spirit urge him to ignore his reservations, and take her in his arms. But how can an immortal ever be with a human, and how can he find her a mate, when he wants to fill the position himself?
