Chasing Sunrise

While Megan Chase and her friend Sadie are vacationing in an all-inclusive Caribbean resort, they stumble across two very good looking guys at their hotel. Megan just wants to relax by the water and enjoy her book, while Sadie becomes more adventurous and goes to talk to the guys. They hit it off together and Sadie invites the guys to join them for dinner. They accept and meet up with each other later on that evening.

When they arrive for dinner in one of the local restaurants, it seems like they all are getting along well with each other. Megan finds out though that Keith is engaged to be married soon and the information hits her with a surprising punch. She’s disappointed to say the least because she felt a spark between them, but she would never do anything to jeopardize his engagement. As the evening progresses, Sadie hooks up with Doug and they head to the girls’ room to spend some alone time together. Now Megan and Keith are left together. Since it’s such a beautiful night, they decide to continue hanging out and talking together. Ironically, Keith begins feeling that there’s something going on between them, but he’s engaged nonetheless. He knows that his fiancée gave him permission to be on this vacation so if he wanted to get even with Della and cheat on her as she did on him, he had her full blessing. But Keith wasn’t that kind of guy. No matter how terrible the situation was between him and Della he didn’t want to be confused anymore by starting something up with Megan. But could Megan be the girl he has been looking for all along or does he decide to patch things up with Della and marry her the following month as originally planned?

I thought this was an entertaining read and my heart went out to Keith for finding out that his fiancée was having an affair with her coworker for quite some time now. I had hoped that he would make the right decision and not feel any regrets with the final outcome. I felt bad for Megan because it seemed that she also felt something for Keith and because he was engaged, backed off. This storyline teaches us that sometimes fate knows things are better for us than we might think they are and we have to come to that understanding with our minds, hearts and souls in sync. I thought this was well written and I would definitely be interested in reading more from this talented author in the future.
