This was a fantastic story that I just couldn’t put down. From the very first chapter, I was hooked and Ms. Haines held my attention until the very last word. I absolutely loved the storyline. I’m an admirer of lighthouses and I enjoy learning the history behind each one. The lighthouse in this story was no exception. The author was so descriptive in her details of not only the lighthouse and its history, but also she made me believe that this lighthouse really existed. To add to my enjoyment, she wrapped a paranormal twist to her storyline that made it even more of a favorite read for me. Let’s not forget to mention her characters were written to be everyday people, with everyday problems. I fell in love with Declan Hunter and I felt that Blake Cartwright was his perfect match. I just hoped that they eventually realized this fact before it was too late. This is one of those stories in which you immediately go on the ride of your life from the first page. I really loved this story and because of it, I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more from Ms. Haines. Well done!
Blake Cartwright has decided that she needs to make some major changes in her life. Leaving her legal career in New York City and moving to Eagle Point, Maine is a start. Buying a dilapidated, unoccupied lighthouse seems like a fun idea because now turning thirty, she is ready to finally chase after her dreams of opening an inn. Once she arrives there, the lighthouse and the two-story cape on the property look nothing like the pictures provided to her by the realtor who sold her the property. Not to mention, the lighthouse is supposedly haunted by the spirit of one of the former occupants, Lucy Stone, who fell to her death off the catwalk. If that isn’t enough for Blake to handle, while she’s looking around the house, she hears someone walking around upstairs. After a heart stopping few moments, she slams right into sexy Declan Hunter and her life is about to kick into overdrive. Who is Declan Hunter and why is he on her property? Does Blake continue on with her plans to open her dream inn? Do Blake and Declan act on the attraction they feel between them?
