In this children’s short story, we’re told how beloved Toby, the pet therapy dog, would be so excited every Wednesday when he prepared to head to the nearby hospital to do some mingling with patients who needed some extra love and care during their stay there. He was a huge hit with them and the staff and he was such a great therapy dog- knowing what each patient particularly needed each week he visited.
Ms. Hammond has such a way with her words that no matter if it’s a children’s book or one that adults can enjoy, it seems she can entertain readers of any age without a second thought. I love her conversational tone throughout her books and clearly this children’s book was no exception to that rule. For any fan of Toby, I assure you that you’ll want to read all his books just so you can enjoy his silly antics. This is another Toby book I loved reading and I highly recommend it to readers young and old.
