Allison Grey is a therapist with a special talent. She has psychic abilities and this helps her when she's dealing with her clients. Some time ago she even decided to work with a paranormal group, Detroit Area Paranormal Society, and she enjoyed working with them until one night the investigation got completely out of control and she decided not to do it anymore.
Now, her best friend, Tina, is invited to this posh party being thrown by Detroit's Most Eligible Bachelor, Logan Mitchell. Tina is his realtor and has just sold him the mansion for a steal of a deal. She wants to have some fun at the party and who else does she take along with her but her friend, Allison. While they're there, Allison is feeling really uncomfortable with all these pretentious people, including Logan who seems to have noticed her from across the room. As he's heading toward her to make his introduction, out of the corner of her eye, she sees a woman in a white dress sitting on the stairs crying. She walks over to see if she can help her and that's when she realizes it's a ghost. Freaked out, Allison runs out of the party without even telling Tina that she's leaving. By the time Logan makes it across the room to talk to Allison, she's running out the door.
Little does both Allison and Logan know that this will only be the beginning of many strange things happening to them and that their paths will cross more times than Allison would really like. But it's during these meetings that they both realize there's a spark igniting between them.
The question is will they act upon that attraction they have for one another? Does Allison ever tell Logan about the ghost in his mansion? Who is the ghost and why is she stuck in this realm? Could Allison be the one person who can help Logan free this spirit and help her move on to the afterlife?
I really enjoyed this ghost story! The action was great and it kept me riveted to my seat the entire time. The characters were very believable and I couldn't help but feel like they became my friends as I continued turning the pages. At times, I did feel that Allison was acting a bit too immature for my taste, but I overlooked that character flaw and still enjoyed the story immensely. I wanted Allison and Logan to take a shot at what they were feeling for each other and I hoped that whatever obstacles were in their way they'd work on getting through them together. This was one story that I just couldn't put down and I definitely recommend it to other readers.
