Is it possible that wine could be the very elixir of life? Quite possibly, yes, if it were made from a specific variety of grapes that are believed to date back to the time of Christ and The Last Supper. Or at least that’s what the elite group of wealthy people believe that call themselves The Vintage Club. They are on a quest to find the answer, that is, until their scientist, Walter Trudell, is murdered. Surprisingly, it’s his godson, Reggie, that is the prime suspect and when news breaks about this, Reggie goes into hiding. Did Reggie really kill Walter? Could there really be certain grapes that date back to the time of Christ and be the elixir of life?
Mr. Gibby penned a winner with this fast-paced novel that had me frantically turning the pages for more. Just the thought of having an elite group of people funding the idea that a certain variety of grapes dated back to the time of Christ and could be the elixir of life was just pure ingenious on the author’s behalf. This novel had mystery, murder and plenty of suspense that will keep any reader riveted to their seat. I loved this story so much so that I would even love to see it as a movie on the big screen. Clearly Mr. Gibby has a bright future penning intriguing novels that fans will be eager to read. Well done, Mr. Gibby!
Can wine really make you live forever? Yes, if the grapes are an ancient varietal---or so the members of the Vintage Club believe. Made up of some of the world’s wealthiest industrial magnates, the club conducts secret scientific research to discover what has eluded humans throughout history: the elixir of life.
Their quest hits a snag when scientist Walter Trudell is murdered. The prime murder suspect is his godson Reggie Alexander, a patent attorney whom Trudell once saved from a life of poverty in northeast Washington, D.C. As soon as news of the murder spreads, Reggie goes into hiding---soon after his wife and son disappear.
After being chased by mysterious assailants, beaten unconscious, and planted with a bug, Reggie must come to grips with his own private demons while figuring out how to save his family. The Vintage Club is a thriller that both explores the ancient Christian symbolism of wine and imagines ways that modern nanotechnology could be used to discover the fountain of youth.
