The Trouble with Christmas

Christmas, Colorado, #1

Hartwell Enterprises needs to do a last ditch attempt to try and smooth over the hurt feelings they caused the town people of Christmas, Colorado. You see, the company wanted to build a lucrative resort there, but once Madison Lane crunched the company’s numbers, she explained that if the company moved forward with the deal, they would cause its own demise. When they backed out of the deal, the town folks were up in arms because they were counting on the revenue and jobs the resort was going to bring into their financially hurting little town. Wanting to smooth everyone’s ruffled feathers, Hartwell Enterprises sends none other than Madison herself to talk to the folks and explain why they’re pulling out of the deal. From the time Madison arrives in town, she’s involved in one mishap adventure after another. This doesn’t bode well for her considering she’s already been labeled, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.” If that isn’t enough for her to handle, when she meets Sheriff Gage McBride, it seems her heart is even going against her because she can’t deny the deep attraction she feels for this handsome guy. Even though Gage is angered at Madison for squashing the most lucrative deal the town of Christmas will ever see, he’s attracted to this beautiful woman as well. Do they act upon their attraction for one another while Madison is still in town? Can the town ever forgive her for influencing Hartwell Enterprises for pulling out of the deal?

I really enjoyed this holiday novel and I found myself constantly laughing at the mishaps Madison kept finding herself in. It got so bad, that I began to think she was hexed by someone because she always found herself in trouble one way or another. I loved the author’s writing style and the characters were extremely believable. I also loved the little town of Christmas, Colorado and felt it was a real town I was reading about. Ms. Mason penned a great novel, with plenty of humor mixed in, that will keep her readers eagerly turning the pages for more. Right from the start, I found myself wanting Madison and Gage together. If you want to find out what happened between them and how the town of Christmas dealt with the business proposition falling through, you should definitely pick up a copy for yourself. I highly recommend it!
