Ms. James has outdone herself with this new series, Alliance of the Amazons. Rebecca Massel was a character that I could easily relate to and I found myself cheering her on throughout the story. When she was stood up at the altar, I loved how she not only punched her fiancé, Rick, in the nose, but also her life now changed for the better when her Sentinel, Artair MacKay, whisked her away to her new life living as an Amazon. Artair was an extremely handsome Scotsman and Rebecca eventually came to her senses realizing that she didn’t have much more to lose since she was just made a fool of by her now ex-fiancé. I loved the fast paced storyline and I just couldn’t wait to see if Rebecca and Artair were able to start a life together in the end. If you’re looking for a fun, rollercoaster ride of emotions in a full length story, than look no further. This book is the perfect blend of suspense, love and deception all rolled into one. I highly recommend this new series to all readers!
Rebecca Massel can’t believe that her fiancé is backing out of marrying her while they’re just about to exchange their vows. So she does the first thing that comes to mind – she punches him. As she’s doing this, an earthquake starts and a gorgeous man in a kilt approaches Rebecca. He tells her that he’s here to take her away. After a bit of arguing with this stranger, she leaves with him, but she’s still extremely weary of who he is and the reasoning as to why he says he has to take her away from the very life she knows. Could this be the start of a different life for Rebecca? Or could this be just another situation gone terribly wrong for her?
The last thing Rebecca Massee expects on her wedding day is to go from jilted kindergarten teacher to Amazonian Earth warrior. But when she causes an earthquake after her groom says I don't, she discovers that not only does she possess incredible powers, she is one of four lost chosen sisters who must fight to keep humanity safe from rogue gods and demons. Luckily she has help: ruggedly handsome Scottish warrior Artair MacKay, her protector and teacher.
An immortal, Artair has trained countless warriors for more than four hundred years. He understands Rebecca's confusion at the new world she's been thrust into and worries she is too emotionally vulnerable, but that doesn't stop his growing feelings for the beautiful and fearless woman.
When an evil force threatens to destroy the Amazons, Rebecca must claim her full powers--but they come at a cost. Can she sacrifice the man she loves if it means saving the world?
