The Drake House

Ms. Moran wrote a chilling, edge-of-your-seat novel that had this reader wondering who the villain was until the very end of the story. This is one of those stories that keeps you guessing who it might be and once you take a stab at the person you think it is, you’re completely wrong. I love when authors keep you guessing until the end of the story. In doing this, Ms. Moran kept me frantically turning the pages to get to the bottom of things. I loved Trisha and Nick and wanted them together no matter what obstacles each was facing. I felt they were perfect for each other and I was rooting for them to be together as soon as they met each other. I highly recommend this story and I’m eager to see what else this author might already have available for her readers. Well done, Ms. Moran!

Trisha Eaton has assumed ownership of the family’s small apple orchard in Small Rapids, Wisconsin and she loves her job. Unfortunately, things aren’t always so easy for her. You see, for some time she’s been suffering from nightmares and sleepwalking all stemming from a house that’s located not too far from her family’s land. This house is known as The Drake House. Oddly enough, it seems to have a strong hold on Trisha and haunts her no matter whether she’s awake or asleep. Poor Trisha has no idea why this house has as much power over her as it does. When new deputy, Nick Mackey, comes to town, there’s an instant attraction between Trisha and him, but neither feel having a relationship is the right thing to do since both have tons of baggage to deal with. It seems the more they’re around each other, the more the sparks continue to fly. Can they both work through their hang-ups to pave the way for a new relationship to blossom between them? What is going on with The Drake House? Why does it haunt Trisha the way it does?

Book Blurb for The Drake House

In her dreams, a ghost demands to be heard...

Once plagued by mysterious nightmares, Trisha Eaton always chalked them up to childish nuisances--until they return with a vengeance. Something about the Drake house next door haunts her, and now her night terrors and sleepwalking seem to be luring her to something dark. After a series of strange events, Trisha turns to Nick Mackey.

As the new deputy in town, Nick wants to forget his traumatic past. His undeniable attraction for Trisha has him wondering if a shot at a normal life is possible. But Trisha has somehow struck a nerve in their small, superstitious town, and a long-buried secret threatens to surface again. A secret that someone will kill to keep veiled.

Answers only lead to more questions in a case where nothing makes sense, but one chilling fact remains...some nightmares are all too real.
