The Crocheter's Skill-Building Workshop

Essential Techniques for Becoming a More Versatile, Adventurous Crocheter

In this crocheter’s handbook, there’s a wealth of knowledge for any level crocheter. Ms. Ohrenstein breaks down the book into different parts making it easy for the crocheter to find what they might be looking for in a snap. Part one of the book details ten different chapters containing all different techniques one can use to enrich their crocheting. In Part two, she includes five different projects for us to try. The projects include making a hat, cowl, bag, lace capelet and lace scarf. Toward the end of the book, there are also sections for learning Pattern Reading, a Glossary of terms, Abbreviations and Basic Stitches to reference and finally, an area giving us a few Resources you might want to check out.

I absolutely loved this crocheting book. Being a beginner crocheter, I found a wealth of information in every chapter. From learning how to control the tension with my stitches, to learning a brand new stitching technique – this will definitely be one of my go-to reference books as I’m learning my new hobby. I liked the variety of information offered and enjoyed how each stitch that the author was teaching was fully explained and illustrated to reference along as I tried the new stitch myself. If you’re a crochet lover, I feel you’ll enjoy reading this book as much as I did!
