Ms. Arden penned a hot and sexy story for her readers to enjoy. When she wrote how Carolina Rodriguez and Matt McLemore met while attending her cousin Sam’s wedding, I laughed out loud how they “collided” into each other. What a first impression I got of Matt in his compromising position. I really didn’t like him because there was something about him that put me off at first, but as the story continued to unfold, he seemed to grow on me as I kept turning the pages. I really was curious as to what was causing so many cattle deaths on his family’s ranch. Thankfully, Carolina was a large animal veterinarian and she could help in determining what was really going on with the cattle dying. I also thought it was funny how the only way he could have her stay on the family property was to play off that they were dating each other. Talk about an awkward situation for the both of them, but it didn’t seem to hinder the attraction that was smoldering between them. Overall, this was a good book that helped me pass the time.
When Carolina stumbles upon Matt for the first time at Sam’s wedding, she’s beside herself at how awkward their first encounter is together. Putting their differences aside from their first meeting, Matt asks Carolina to help him figure out why his family’s cattle continue to die off. Since his father is so against modern genetic testing, the only other available opportunity for Carolina to get close enough to the cattle to do some testing is to pose as Matt’s girlfriend. Ironically, in playing his girlfriend, deep down there’s an attraction brewing between them that can’t be denied. How far are they both willing to explore the burning desire they have for each other? What is the reasoning behind all the cattle dying off?
