Straddling the Line

The Bolton Boys #1

I thought this was a good story, but I have to admit that I just didn’t like the attitudes of all the Bolton men Ms. Anderson created. I felt they all had serious attitude problems and they all needed to have those attitudes adjusted to bring them down a peg or two. These nasty, explosive attitudes distracted me from the storyline and just annoyed me from the start. Sadly, they continued throughout the entire story. Having said that, I did enjoy the Native American theme that flowed easily throughout out the pages and I thought it was fun seeing how Ben Bolton and Josey White Plume hit it off together. Although, their connection surely didn’t happen within their first meeting together, that’s for sure. I felt they were really complete opposites of each other in every way possible, but the author managed to write her story in such a way that I totally believed when these two characters finally hooked up together. Overall, I enjoyed this story and found myself losing track of the time while I read it.

Josey White Plume has decided that even though she really doesn’t want to have this financial meeting with one of the Bolton men in their Crazy Horse Choppers shop, the school her reservation is building desperately needs more financing and hopefully the Bolton men will decide to donate to help her tribe out. Never did she imagine that when she first meets Ben Bolton that she’ll be instantly attracted to him. After the meeting didn’t go as well as planned, Josey feels that’s the last she’s going to hear from anyone from Crazy Horse Choppers. That is, until Ben gets in touch with her again so they can talk. Could he be attracted to Josey and just doesn’t want to admit it? Does Ben finally donate to the reservation school?
