As a teenager, Mia Galdon went to work with her mother, who worked for the very prestigious Covington Family. Helping to do chores around the Covington Estate gave Mia many opportunities to get to know Cole Covington. Being that they both grew up in drastically different circles, Cole’s mother never let Mia forget that she was just another piece of trash that was after Covington money. Ironically, Cole and Mia truly loved each other even though they were just teenagers. After a tragic incident happened involving Cole’s brother, both Cole and Mia went their separate ways. Ten years later, Cole returns from the military not only a changed man, but also with severe mental and physical injuries he sustained recently. It seems since Mia is now a registered nurse, she is the only one who can help Cole to piece his life back together again. Are feelings still lingering between them after all these years?
I found this to be a fantastic novel that had me quickly turning the pages to see what happened next between Mia and Cole. The storyline was very believable and the characters were extremely likeable. I had hoped there was still something lingering between them and as adults they would finally act with their hearts and not their minds. I hated Cole’s mother because she was every part the nasty, stuck up rich woman who wanted to control everyone and everything. If you love second chance romances, than this is definitely one you should look into. I can’t wait for book two in the series!
