Mercy

Entangled Ever After

In this short paranormal romance, we’re introduced to Julia Klein and her six-year-old daughter, Amy, who live in Boston. Ever since Julia’s husband died in a car crash a few years ago, she’s been having a tough time making ends meet. If that burden isn’t enough for her, Amy was in the car during the accident and hasn’t spoken a word since that horrific day. At present, things aren’t falling easily into place for either of them, especially when Julia finds out that not only is her boyfriend, Garrett, moving to Atlanta because of his new job, but also Amy is put on one week of suspension because she supposedly displayed violent behavior to some fellow classmates. So Julia decides a little weekend getaway will be the perfect thing to do so they can try to regroup again. Her and Amy head to a quaint inn located in Newport, Massachusetts, but what they don’t know is that the inn is haunted. The next few days are going to be filled with plenty of surprises – some that aren’t of the pleasurable kind. Will Julia and Amy be able to make it through the weekend unharmed? Where does Garrett fit into all of this?

What a great ghost story penned by Ms. Coffey. She had me riveted to my seat from the very first page and held my attention until the very last word. She entwined so many things into this storyline that I became an instant fan of hers early on in the story. I can’t say enough how I really enjoyed her writing style. It was fun getting to know her characters, both alive and deceased, and I really became engrossed in all the haunted history she included in this short ghost story. This is the first story that I read by this author and it surely won’t be my last. This is definitely a perfect story to read for Halloween or for that matter, anytime of year. Don’t pass this one up!

Book Blurb for Mercy

Julia Klein’s life has begun to unravel—her daughter Amy has been suspended from school, Julia is about to lose her job, and her boyfriend Garrett is being transferred thousands of miles away. Overwhelmed, she and Amy leave for a weekend at a rambling old colonial inn. Julia never suspects that Garrett, desperate to find a way to keep Julia in his life, has decided to surprise her by joining them. Nor does she expect her daughter to befriend a mischievous ghost...or that she herself would be possessed by the malevolent spirit of a long-dead mother.

As a dark secret emerges, Julia, Amy, and Garrett find themselves pitted in a fight for survival against a savage presence that intends to resurrect/repeat/relive a horrible crime committed two centuries ago. And this time, Amy and Julia will be the victims.
