I found this story to be a very unique one and because of this new take on having a character “save themself for their true marriage partner,” I thought it made this story stand out from the rest. I immediately fell in love with Captain Jake Marston, an injured firefighter living and working in Starlight, Iowa. He had a sweet nature about him and he was irresistibly attractive to me right from the start. I thought it was very admirable of him to hold out kissing anyone until he knew he had met the woman he was going to marry. On the flip side, I also loved Julia Sinclair and thought she’d make the perfect match for Jake. This author is new to me, but after reading this story she now has a new fan. Great job, Ms. Durgin!
Jake Marston is proud of himself for holding out kissing the girls he dates to save himself for the one special girl that the Lord has planned for him to spend his life with. After being injured at a fire a few weeks ago, he’s been just trying to lay low to heal his wounds, but his friend and fellow firefighter, Dylan, thinks a friendly visit with his sister, Julia, is just what Jake needs. When Jake sees Julia, he’s taken by her beauty inside and out. He finds himself extremely attracted to her and would love to get to know her better, but he’s fearful of what she’ll think when she finds out the vow he made to the Lord about not kissing anyone until he knows she’s “the one.” With a little help from up above, Jake and Julia exchange secrets with each other that could very well change both their lives. How do they both react to each other’s secret?
