In this how-to book of making curtains, Ms. Yaker explains everything you need to know to make them from scratch. She takes her time in explaining everything to us like the breakdown of the anatomy of a window and defines what each window treatment is. She also tells her readers what different hardware they can use to hang their curtains once made. She talks about the perfect fabrics to use, the right lengths that will work and even explains if you should add a lining or not. She goes into detail in how to measure a window accurately so your curtains will be the right size when finished and discusses the yardage you will need to make the curtains. She even tells us how to correctly sew them to prevent us from making any mistakes.

I really enjoyed reading this how-to book and thought that Ms. Yaker did a wonderful job detailing every step of making homemade curtains. She explained everything in easy-to-understand language and gave definitions of words that are used in the process of making them.
