Ghosts of the Falls

Jade Clarence finds herself in a very troubling situation with her family. You see, she works with her brothers in which all three of them exorcise ghosts. Just recently, because of Jade’s unorthodox practices, she unfortunately caused a death of a client. Her brothers are extremely upset with her and are reluctant to even give her another shot at redeeming herself. No matter what, she’ll do whatever she has to in order for them to trust her enough to remain in the family business. When Jade finds out their next case is to exorcise a ghost that haunts a state park in Maine, she’s as ready as she’ll ever be to regain her position in the family business again. She goes to investigate the information she has on the haunting incidents and she’s confident she’ll get the job done correctly this time. But all her confidence disappears once she meets Dutch Hutchinson, the very ghost that is haunting the state park. This case becomes more personal than it should be and Jade finds herself falling for this handsome ghost. Does Jade ultimately perform an exorcist on Dutch? What happens when her brothers have to step in? Is everyone happy with the end result?

Ms. Gilman penned a great story for her readers to enjoy. I was immediately pulled into the storyline and found myself eagerly turning the pages so I could find out what happened next. Her characters were fun to get to know and I found myself really caring about what ultimately happened to Jade and Dutch. The dialogue was smooth flowing and added to the overall enjoyment of the story. She penned such an entertaining story that it felt totally believable to me – as if I was there watching it all unfold before me. If you love ghost stories and are looking for a short story to fit into your busy schedule, you definitely should look into this one. I highly recommend it!
