In this adorably illustrated children’s book, we read about how although monsters will growl, grumble or snarl, deep down they can be afraid of the dark too just like us. As a matter of fact, they’re more similar to us than we think. They eat a healthy breakfast every day, they comb their fur, they ride the school bus and they even learn their ABC’s.
I just loved how the author wrote this story to take the fear away from children that monsters are more like them than they realize. In writing this adorable story this way, I feel it will provide children a comfort level that monsters aren’t something to fear because they’re just like them in many ways. They have to eat a healthy breakfast every morning and get ready for school so they can learn things every day. This helps soften the image in children’s minds of how monsters are always mean to everyone. I wish I had this story to read when I was a child. Well done!
