Roxanne Fortuna, daughter to Lady Luck, decides that after three unsuccessful attempts at trying to have a relationship with three different men it's definitely time to terminate her contract with Cupid's Dating Service. She just can't understand how the dating service says they have such a high success rate of finding people's love matches within their first attempt, when in fact she's gone through three men and they all weren't her match at all. Now, she's going to take matters into her own hands and start a slandering campaign to prove to anyone who reads her blog that the company is very misleading in how they sell their services.
Maverick Eros, son to Venus, is really the god of love and he uses his dating business as a cover to get his job done. When he finds out that one of his clients isn't satisfied with the service his company is providing and she has gone to the extreme of slandering his good name, he decides to take matters into his own hands to see if he can rectify this out of control situation.
When Roxanne receives a handwritten note requesting a meeting with the owner of Cupid's Dating Service to discuss her situation further, she can't believe it. Reluctantly she accepts and heads to see what this man has to say for himself. As soon as she lays eyes on Maverick, all her senses come alive and she can't get over how gorgeous this man really is.
Maverick is stunned at how attracted he is to Roxanne and just can't help but wonder how making love to her would really be. But he has to put his emotions in check and deal with the serious situation at hand. He needs to have Roxanne end her slandering campaign against his company and see if he can handpick a suitable mate for her himself.
But how can he succeed at pairing her with someone else when all he wants to do is kiss and touch her himself? Could Maverick be Roxanne's perfect suitor after all?
I absolutely adored this story and I loved the storyline the author created. I found this read to be light and funny and I had wondered all along if the pairing of Roxanne and Maverick was a perfect match even though I knew their parents were behind them meeting all along. If you're looking for a story that will put a smile on your face and have you rooting Cupid on, than you have found the perfect one to add to your collection!
