Baking Love

This was a fun, entertaining story that I totally got lost in. Ms. Boyd created a wonderful storyline and relatable characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. In this story, we are introduced to Kate Sullivan who has inherited Sullivan’s Cakery from her dear grandmother. Learning all the tricks on how to succeed, Kate is making a name for herself. So much so that she lands the opportunity of a lifetime in which she is asked to create a huge wedding cake for a high-profile person. When the engaged couple goes to talk to her, she finds out that the groom-to-be is none other than Eric Wagner, her ex-best friend that she secretly had a crush on years ago before he disappeared completely out of her life one day. My heart broke for her because of all people it had to be Eric and his fiancée who were the clients? I loved the pacing of the story and Ms. Boyd created snappy dialogue for Kate and Eric. I would definitely recommend this story and I hope to read more by this author in the near future. Don’t pass this one up!

When Kate Sullivan lands an account from a high-profile client, she’s thrilled to pieces. She will finally be making a name for herself. When the couple comes to talk to her, she can’t believe her eyes. The groom-to-be is her ex-best friend, Eric Wagner. He’s the very man who she was going to open up to so she could tell him how she felt about him, but he decided to disappear out of her life instead without saying a word to her as to why he needed to go away. But now, he’s ordering his wedding cake and he wants her to bake it for him and his fiancée. How do Kate and Eric feel when they see each other again? Even though Eric is in the process of planning his wedding, could there be the remotest chance that something sparks between Kate and him that makes him second guess if he should go through with his wedding?
