In book two of this series, we revisit Claire Weatherly and her friends in Heavenly, Pennsylvania. This time, the town is buzzing over the news that toy manufacturer Rob Karble is going to bring much needed revenue and jobs to their financially hurting little town. They’re all eager to jump start the project until they find out that Rob plans to use the Amish designs shown to him, but he’s not employing any of the Amish folks to manufacture these very toys. Everyone is outraged at his unethical business practices he plans on doing to hurt the town and its people. Have no fear though because one person decides to take the matter into their own hands and will make certain even Rob won’t be making any money on this project.
I found this story to be a pure delight from beginning to end. I loved that a mystery was wrapped around the Amish folks of Heavenly, Pennsylvania - a quaint little town I wish existed so I could visit it. The storyline and characters were entertaining and I couldn’t wait to find out who decided to take matters into their own hands in regards to Rob. I love Amish novels and this one was no exception. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this fun series. I highly recommend it!
Just when Claire Weatherly thinks that the town can go back to the peace and quiet it has always been like, she’s pulled into another mystery that she and the rest of the folks of Heavenly want to get to the bottom of. No one wants Rob Karble to get away with unethical business practices he plans on doing against this close knit community. So one person decides to take matters into their own hands and makes certain Rob won’t get away with it any longer. Who killed Rob? Are the town folks surprised at who did it?
Claire Weatherly found the simple life she always wanted when she opened a gift shop in Heavenly, Pennsylvania—a small town in the heart of Amish country. But when murder disrupts her Heavenly home, it’s up to Claire and Detective Jakob Fisher to find the not-so-simple truth. The quiet town of Heavenly is buzzing with excitement over the latest guests at the local inn, Sleep Heavenly. Toy manufacturer Rob Karble is in town to meet the members of the Amish community who will soon be crafting a new toy line for his company. But when word gets out that Karble intends to use the Amish designs without employing the Amish to make them, someone sends the interloper to his final reward. No one wants to believe anyone from the Amish community could commit such an act, but as Claire and Detective Fisher have learned, no one is above sin—or suspicion.
