I loved this sixth installment of The Discovery series as much as I loved each of the five previous installments. In this book, we follow along with Eddie finally being able to recall small pieces of memories from time-to-time. Unfortunately, it takes some time for him to even get any important memories to return and when they do, it’s only snippets he recalls. As for Meredith, she’s now grown closer to Jonah and they have been seriously courting. So much so, that even though she hasn’t completed her year of traditional mourning that the Amish culture requires, she has accepted Jonah’s marriage proposal anyway. I wasn’t sure how the author was going to tie up all the loose ends in the story, particularly having Eddie finally remember his birth name, but she definitely didn’t disappoint this reader. Every question I had was answered and I walked away completely satisfied how she ended the series. I highly recommend this complete series and I look forward to reading more of her books in the very near future. Well done, Ms. Brunstetter!
As Eddie begins remembering little pieces of memory, he grows anxious in trying to figure out who he is and what his past life consisted of. Eventually being able to piece some details together, he learns his name is Luke, he lives in Lancaster County and he’s married to Meredith. It takes time though to realize what his exact address is so he can finally make his return home. Meredith has been growing closer to Jonah these past few months and when he eventually asks for her hand in marriage, she accepts. But even after accepting his proposal, something seems to be gnawing deep down in Meredith’s soul. Is she making the right decision of marrying Jonah because she really loves him or because he’ll be a wonderful provider for her and Levi Luke? Does Eddie remember where he lives in time to see Meredith before she marries Jonah? Or do Meredith and Jonah marry and start a new life together?
Join Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus, an Amish couple who are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives. A Vow for Always is part six of Wanda E. Brunsetter s The Discovery--A Lancaster County Saga.
