Shannon Hammer has a great reputation, within her quaint little town of Lighthouse Cove, California, as being one of the best local contractors in the home-renovation industry. She’s able to fix virtually anything that needs renovation, but when a dead body shows up on her latest job site, she has no idea how to fix her now tarnished reputation because the town is labeling her a murderer. She’ll stop at nothing to clear her name, even if that means she has to start her own investigation to find the truth. Is Shannon finally cleared of the murder charges?
This was a wonderful start to this new fixer-upper mystery series. I really enjoyed Ms. Carlisle’s characters and wanted Shannon to clear her name as soon as possible. Everything hinged on her being cleared of murder charges and the author knew how to keep me glued to my seat the entire time I was reading the story. I felt Shannon had such bad luck, that no matter how hard she tried clearing her name, it just dug her deeper into the pending murder investigation. If you love quaint little town murder mysteries, than this is one you should definitely look into. I highly recommend it and I eagerly look forward to reading the future books in this fun series.
