Shyne Marie Jackson was removed from state foster care the day she turned eighteen. The state gave her twenty dollars and showed her the door. Lost and alone she wasn't sure where to go. When she meets another lost soul, Travis Heron, they decide to go in together and soon become best-friends and family. Working on her dream she gets her aerobic instructor's certificate and is given a job at a were-hyena health club. Three hyena-shifter brothers want her for their own mate and she only sees them as friends. At the fair she meets Michael Abraham Garrick and something clicks. Not willing to give her up the three hyena-shifting brother’s resort to drastic measures to remove their competition.
This is another great story in R. E. Butler’s The Wolf's Mate series. There is so much to love about the characters. Outside the common denominator of shifters finding their mates each story is given individual main characters. Each has different traits and backgrounds, but each has an inner strength, sometimes it is a strength they don't even realize they have. In Michael's and Shyne's story I was drawn into the story because of how she overcame so much to become the self-confident and independent woman we all strive to be in our own lives.
This is the fourth book in the series and it can easily be read as a standalone, but you will quickly be clamoring to read the series from the start. Pick up a copy of any of the books in the series and find out why R. E. Butler is a favored author of so many.
Michael Gerrick was beginning to wonder if he would ever find his truemate. Fate seemed to smile on him, when he fell hard for the delectable fitness instructor, Shyne. The only problem: three were-hyenas want her for their clan and are willing to do anything to get him out of the way.
Shyne Jackson was smitten with Michael from the moment they met. Swept up by his devastating good looks and sense of humor, she's unaware of the plotting of her were-hyena bosses behind the scenes as they attempt to keep her and Michael apart. When they cross the line, will a showdown of fur and claws destroy everything she holds dear?
This book is for mature readers only and contains a wolf looking for his mate, a woman with a dark past, neck biting, plenty of teasing, wisecracks galore, and creative use of a pool table.
