"Truth and Solace" is the third book in the Love at Solace Lake series by Jana Richards. This book, while listed as a stand alone should be read in order to fully enjoy the book and the series. While I enjoyed all the the books in the series this was by far my favourite. This was probably due to the fact that the author did such a wonderful job of building on the initial books and gave all the answers I was waiting for. She did a fantastic job of keeping me interested and engaged through the entire series and especially through this last book. I am sad to see the series end; however, I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I laughed and cried during this last book.
Maggie Lindquist is the youngest sister of the family. While she has had her own difficulties out in the world she was less than impressed with moving back home. She is determined to do the best job for her family lodge. Maggie, with her 2 older sisters, are working hard to rebuild their family lodge and make it prosperous. Little did she expect to see the man who broke her heart ten years ago. Luke Carlsson has returned home to spend time with his dying mother. When he heard about the lodge renovations he decided that it would be a good place to work and to stay close to his mother. As Maggie and Luke are forced to work together they quickly are drawn together again. Luke’s dying mother has secrets of her own to share that may shatter Maggie and her family.
The truth could destroy them. Or set them free.
Maggie Lindquist left Solace Lake determined never to return. Circumstances have pulled her back and she’s helping to restore her family’s dilapidated fishing lodge. When she agreed to the plan she didn’t expect to have to work side by side with the man who abandoned her ten years earlier. She didn’t expect to like him, or want him ever again. But can she trust him as she once did?
Luke Carlsson rushes home to tend to his ailing mother. Her lengthy illness means he needs to stay, at least temporarily. And to stay, he needs to work. Solace Lake Lodge offers him a job and an opportunity to work with the woman he’s never stopped loving. But the restoration is unleashing secrets hidden for decades and no one is left unscathed. Especially not Maggie and Luke, whose love needs to be resilient enough to forgive, and strong enough to build a future together.
