Shadowdwellers Series, #2

Daenaira has had a very hard life before the point that her relatives sell her into bondage to finally rid themselves of her. She is a feisty woman, whose concepts of right and wrong have never wavered, even in the harsh upbringing she has had. She fights to keep herself safe and is more than willing to continue fighting as she meets her new owner, even though owning slaves is illegal. As she meets her new owner she realizes that she had been lied to, she has not been sold into slavery, and she has been chosen to be handmaiden to the most powerful spiritual leader of the Shadowdellers, Magnus.

Magnus is a powerful spiritual leader who is more than willing to fight against the evils of his people when he needs to. The laws must be enforced and it is the priests who enforce the rules and who also offer absolution. As Magnus fights to save Sanctuary from the evils hiding within he is not happy to have a new handmaiden, especially after his last one tried to kill him. Magnus and Daenaira must trust fate and each other in order to rid Sanctuary of the traitors hiding within it.
This book is the second in the Shadowdweller series. Ms. Frank is a skilled and insightful writer and her books are a pleasure to read. The Shadowdweller series is interesting with new ideas. The intrigue, action and romance are the right combination and I can not wait to read the next book in the series, which is Pleasure scheduled to come out in October.

Book Blurb for Rapture

The Shadowdwellers live in a realm of darkness and sensuality, where order is prized and sin must be punished. Yet for Magnus, the head priest of Sanctuary, salvation rests with the one woman who can entice him to break every rule...

She Was The Ultimate Temptation

Magnus is a man of contradictions—a spiritual leader in a warrior's body. To him, laws are for enforcing and visions must be followed—even if that means freeing a beautiful slave and making her his reluctant handmaiden. Betrayed once before, Magnus can barely bring himself to trust another woman. Yet Daenaira's fiery innocence is drawing them both into a reckless inferno of desire.
