Lover Unbound

Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5

Dr. Jane Whitcomb is an excellent surgeon and trauma doctor; she has gone into the medical field due to her past. Jane is a strong and sensible woman who is looking into moving to a new hospital to further her career. An injured man comes into the trauma center and from there her life changes, dramatically and quickly. The man who has come in injured has internal injuries and a strange anatomy. That man in Vishous.

Vishous is part of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. While out hunting for Lesser's one night, he is injured. He finds himself regaining consciousness inside a human hospital and is inexplicitly drawn to his female surgeon. When he is rescued, he has a vision that Jane must go with him. Jane proves herself extremely helpful as her healing nature wins out over the anger she feels at being kidnapped. Vishous finds himself trusting and caring for the human doctor and they are drawn together.

Ms. Ward, yet again, writes a wonderful story and one I could not put down. Some of the scenes absolutely melted the pages and I loved learning more of Vishous and meeting Jane. Lover Unbound is the fifth book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I strongly encourage reading the previous books, before this one, as they are a stunning read and will get a reader up to speed on of this fabulous series. I enjoyed seeing more of the other Brothers and seeing how their lives are going. The next book in the series, Lover Enshrined is due for release in April of 2008 and I will be waiting, quite impatiently, for it.

Book Blurb for Lover Unbound

Ruthless and brilliant, Vishous son of the Bloodletter possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a pretrans growing up in his father's war camp, he was tormented and abused. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time- until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that cannot include her.
