Ellysetta is Rain’s bride. She is from the land of Celieria and he is from the Fading Lands. Her soul cried out to his, in the first book of the series, “Lord of the Fading Lands”. As Rain and Ellysetta move towards completing their Truebond, Ellysetta comes more into her own powers.
Rain is the Fey King and the Tairen Soul, one of the few fey who can transform into tairen. The tairen are proud, flying catlike creatures that live in the Fading Lands. As the oldest surviving tairen Rain became the Fey King, after the Mage Wars.
The Mages are attacking again, this time in a more mysterious way. Not only are they preparing for outright war, they are also killing the tairen young. Ellysetta and Rain must work together to save the fey and the tairen. They find the true cause to the tairen cub’s death and must fight against old prejudices to save everyone.
This book is the third in the series of the Tairen Soul. Ms. Wilson is a fantastic writer and able to pull the reader into her magical world so that you don’t want to leave. The scenes are wonderfully written and well detailed, the reader can almost imagine that the world of the Fey, Elves, magic and Tairen really does exist. I am looking forward to the next book, “Queen of Song and Souls” which is set to release in 2009. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the world of magical things and well written books.
