She recently returned from a promising career in journalism when her father passed away and she was asked to take over for the rest of his term as mayor. She accepts the position as she recently suffered a betrayal and she feels safe back in Lake Bluff. Claire also relies on her best friend to help her through difficult memories.
In the mountains near town a hiker claims to have been bitten by a wolf, after he disappears with near fatal wounds, tensions rise. In an area not known for wolves the town quickly acts to find the danger. As unbelievable truths are brought to light Claire begins to suspect that Malachi is hiding something from her.
Hidden Moon in the seventh book in the Nightcreature series. Even though it is the seventh book it can be read without previously reading the other books. I found Hidden Moon to be well written and I hope to see more of some of the secondary characters in future books. Ms. Handeland has the ability to make the book sizzle and pop.
