Dream-Hunter Novels Series #4
Delphine is a Dream-Hunter, one who has spent centuries protecting man-kind in their dreams from the predators that would attack them there and steal their emotions. As the Olympian world starts to crumble around them, the Olympians know they need a new leader. One that can destroy the new evil they are fighting and train the Dream-Hunters to fight their new enemies. Their only hope is a god who has vengeance on his mind against the Olympians, as he has been tortured and punished for centuries.
Cratus, the son of Warcraft and Hate, now goes by Jericho. He is punished and killed nightly while he sleeps as punishment for not following one of Zeus’s orders. As Delphine attempts to turn Jericho to their side, he finally realizes the true consequence of not following the orders and the true reason for that order all those centuries ago.
This is the second book in the new Dream-Hunter series by Ms. Kenyon. She yet again returns us to the world of the gods, Dream-Hunters and Dark-Hunters. She is able to introduce us to people and places that demand a return visit. The main problem with this book is that there are so many new people introduced to us and I found myself a little lost, even having read all of her previous books. Some of the new characters also seem quite similar to past characters; I guess that is the problem though with bad ass people, with chips on their shoulder, fighting to save the human race and the world as it is known. The fight scenes were wonderfully explained and the steamier scenes were just that, steamy. I am definitely and looking forward to the next book in this series, partly to learn more of what I feel I have missed and to catch up on the great characters.
Book Blurb for Dream Warrior
We are the Dolophoni. Diligent. Vigilant. Fierce and inescapable. Servants of the Furies, we are the right hand of justice and no one stands before us…
The son of Warcraft and Hate, Cratus spent eternity battling for the ancient gods who birthed him. He was death to any who crossed him. Until the day he laid down his arms and walked into self-imposed exile. Now an ancient enemy has been unleashed and our dreams are his chosen battlefield. The only hope we have is the one god who swears he will never fight again.
As a Dream-Hunter, Delphine has spent eternity protecting mankind from the predators who prey on our unconscious state. But now that her allies have been turned, she knows in order to survive, the Dream-Hunters need a new leader. Someone who can train them to fight their new enemies. Cratus is her only hope. But she is a bitter reminder of why he chose to lay down his arms.
Time is running out and if she can't win him to her cause, mankind will be slaughtered and the world we know will soon cease to exist.
