Dark-Hunter, Book 12)
Acheron is the leader of the Dark-Hunters, a group of paranormal beings, made by Artemis to combat beings that would destroy the human race. Acheron is first met in this story as a human; the story divulges how he came to be born human when in reality he is one of the strongest Gods in time. We see how Acheron is raised, how he meets Artemis and the suffering he lives through until finally he becomes the being he is.
Tory is the heroine of the story, the woman who helps Acheron come to trust. We realize that we have met Tory in the past and we see the other stories knit themselves together to come to this book. Tory has to battle some insurmountable odds in order to get Acheron to trust her and to be able to keep him.
I waited, quite impatiently, for this book. I was looking forward to learning more about Acheron and what made him such a strong and fair being. This book cleaned up most of the questions that I had and in an excellent way. Ms. Kenyon has yet again, written a book that draws the reader in from start to finish. I found it very difficult to read all of the first past, as I can not imagine anyone being tortured to the extent that Acheron was; however, it is Ms. Kenyon’s story and I am very glad to have read it. I hope to see Acheron more in the next books as I can certainly say that I am waiting anxiously for the next set of books that will lead us to Nick’s story too.
Book Blurb for Acheron
The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .
Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.
Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.
Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.
War has never been more deadly... or more fun.
