I can't believe it's over! Julie Anne Long ended the series with the wonderfully romantic story of Lyon Redmond and Olivia Eversea. She gave this reader a delightful ending that had me spellbound from start to finish.
I was completely swept away by the lovely second chance romance of this story. The author answered all my lingering questions and she did it in her own enchanting style of storytelling. The unique writing style that has made her one of my favorite historical romance authors was exceptional on this book. This was a great love affair as the Redmonds and Eversea families are adversaries in everything. Then it happened that Lyon and Olivia fell in love instantly and it was a Romeo and Juliette aspect. Their young love wasn't meant to be and the separation was legendary. Five years and much wild speculation later, Olivia is finally moving on and Lyon is given the news of her impending marriage. The true story of what really happened between these two star crossed lovers unfolds as they slowly find their way back to each other and culminates in a romantic but very dramatic ending.
I loved the way this love story was written. By going back and showing the readers how Lyon and Olivia first met and how deeply they fell in love only to have it all fall apart on one stormy night. Then the years of anger and resentment, and even how stubborn they were after the reunion, and how close they came to being over for good. I loved the drama that had me entertained until the very end.
I loved everything about this story except that it ends the series. For historical romance readers it doesn't get any better than this series. I highly recommend this book and the entire Pennyroyal Green Series.
