The Highlander's Lady

The Stolen Bride Series, #3

Myra Munro has known great tragedy in her life, and for that reason, she has spent most of her life being over protected by her family. Hiding in the shadows and observing the people around her, except for one dance shared with our hero, but ending in a misunderstanding that has haunted them both. Then a brutal attack by her clans ally prompts Myra into a perilous mission to warn the Bruce of the traitor in his midst. Along the way, she is reunited with Daniel, who offers her protection in return for her hand in marriage.

I enjoyed The Highlanders Lady immensely. Daniel and Myra were a delightful couple, and their pull toward each other kept me riveted to this story. I liked the way Myra could take care of herself, despite being sheltered for most of her life. I liked Daniel, but there were times when he irritated me greatly. Mostly toward the beginning when he kept bemoaning the loss of his bachelorhood. Still, I liked that he waited for Myra to accept him before the bedding commenced.

Ms. Knight has a gift for writing wonderful characters that pull the reader into the story. I liked that both the hero and heroine were strong characters in this story. Myra definitely was no doormat heroine. After all, the girl did kill a man to protect herself. I was likewise impressed by the vivid details and engaging story. The story held me in suspense with several treacherous twists, some that are sure to figure prominently in the next book.

I really enjoyed this book, and if you've not read this series yet, then do yourself a favor and do so now. For fans of Highlander romance, this series is a must read. I highly recommend it.
