I really enjoyed this book. It was right up my alley with the sexy wolves and a hot menage.
The story is set deep in the Louisiana bayou where Rafer Breaux and his wolf brothers roam. The plot is a bit different than the usual shifter stories that I've read. In this story the wolves can only find their bride once in a blue moon. That's why they call her their Blue Moon Bride. It's also why their Pack is fading. The way I understood it was that wolves risk losing their humanity if they don't find their mate and that a few of the Breaux brothers are getting mighty close to that point. But as luck would have it Rafer has a bride in mind. He is hoping that Lark Andrews will be their Blue Moon Bride and will accept his brothers into her bed.
The night of the blue night when the wolves come out to hunt. Lark joins in the game and the love scenes were scorching hot. Lark is naughty girl but she's got some big choices to make. The story wasn't without suspense and danger comes knocking on Lark's door. Another way that the story veered away from others is that the villains had absolutely no redeeming qualities. These were some nasty vamps. Another thing that was a welcome change is that the heroine actually gets to make her own choice. It's a shifter story and the hero is a true alpha male, possessive of his woman, but he lets her choose her own way. Last and maybe one of the most important parts is the love scenes. There were plenty of steamy sex scenes in the story with one very hot group scene that really got me cranked up.
This was a great shifter book that I enjoyed reading. The good news is that its part of a series and the second book is already out so that I can enjoy it as well. So happy reading everybody.
Once in a blue moon…
For Rafer Breaux, life in the Louisiana Bayou is harsh, violent—and deeply sensual. The Cajun werewolf lives for his Pack and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep his brothers safe. The longer a wolf lives without a mate, the harder it becomes for that wolf to shift back. To remember that he is a man—and not a monster. And those mates can only be found during a blue moon. When a blue moon finally rises, Rafer will need every weapon in his sensual arsenal to tempt one special woman into his arms and the heart of the Pack.
The Pack hunts for mates
Fighting to keep her family farm, Lark Andrews isn’t looking for love. Even if the very sexy Breaux brothers make her dream of hot bayou nights spent in their arms. When the blue moon leads Rafer to her door, however, Rafer has her rethinking her position on all work and no play. Now, the bayou nights are heating up as Rafer fights to convince her, one sensual touch at a time, to give love and passion a chance. But Rafer isn’t a one wolf deal. Is there room in Lark’s heart—and bed—for Rafer and his Pack?
