Running Blind was an excellent romantic suspense novel and a good read for me. The plot was exciting and easily captured my attention. It had a great suspense element that kept me on edge as an invisible threat seeks revenge by putting the One-Eyed Jacks in her sights. It was hard to put this one down.
An explosive event got this novel got off to an exciting beginning. Things hit close to home when the entire team is targeted and one of their own takes a hit. Right from the first pages this story had plenty of action, but it was the emotional turmoil that pulled me even further into the thick of things.
I loved the characters in this book. Cooper and Rhonda were well matched though they both had their own issues that had to be resolved. They had this fantastic chemistry but were trying to fight their feelings. The situation was resolved though and they worked well together as intrigue swirled every which way.
I would say that Ms. Gerard created a complicated plot that was equal parts of suspense and romance. I also appreciated how she kept giving the reader a glimpse into the villain and what was going on with that situation. I felt that the story was well written; fast paced in the beginning, then things got a bit slower before once again picking up the pace for a climactic ending. I might also add that I liked that things ended the way they should have for Coop and Rhonda.
I enjoyed this entry into the One-Eyed Jacks Series. Now it's on to Taggert for the next book. I'll be on board for that one too. Readers who like great romantic suspense won't want to miss this series from Cindy Gerard.
